Truck Drivers! Get in Touch with New Technologies on the Road!!!

Working on the road can be a very difficult task. Office jobs offer employees many advantages that most of the time are taken for granted: internet access, phone lines, copy machines, faxes, paper, pens, even the desk!!! After a few days away from home, you find out how difficult the job conditions are over the road and you start to notice those small details. All Truck Drivers and especially Long Haul Truck Drivers face this fact evertday. Fortunately, today the world is growing smaller and technology increases minute by minute allowing many people to reap the benefits of it. Truck drivers are no exception. Many technological advances have imporved their quality of life. A few years ago, no one would have thought that a truck driver would ever implement the use of the internet in his day to day job. Electronic devices such as computers, palms, cell phones, billing devices and more are all available now to increase the effeciency of today's transportation services and their employee's. Professional Drivers benifit just as much from these communication advances as the companies they work for. The Internet is a great tool to improve our levels of communication, allowing drivers to have access to information at the exect time and place they need it. Today Truckers are able to send and receive email and faxes, order parts and find loads on the Web for their return trips. Different companies offer wireless connections to the internet in digital and analog cellular coverage areas by connecting a laptop to a cell phone. Obviously, the advantage here is that those services are easy to use and count on wide geographic coverage. Also, truck drivers can count on portable navigation soft wares or GPS, which can be accessed through cell phones, palms or laptops. These devices feature wireless connectivity and a customizable display, which enable more effective routing and handles detours, distractions and delays safely and efficiently. In common words, the driver can manage to locate where he is on an electronic map that will also help him to find addresses and short the time it takes to get there. Moreover, GPS not only helps the driver but guarantees his safety while on the road. These are low cost GPS software that operate from the vehicles battery power and transmit its location report to the company. Once the unit is installed, the vehicle operator basically can forget about it. There is no driver interaction required or even possible. Besides location and time, the only event the unit monitors is whether the ignition key is turned on or off. This tracking system makes the trip safer for the driver, the clients and the company. The above mentioned are just three electronic implementations that are very useful for the daily job of truck drivers. The industry also makes good use of special electronic billing devices that, after punching in some information, automatically dispatch the bill specifying the type of transaction made; which allows the driver to have a formal document to present to his foreman. Obviously, for these devices to be implemented, the will and desire to learn is crucial. Most of these implementations are important on a personal and business level because people can keep in contact with their freight, families and friends. In general, technology as a whole goes hand in hand with the growth of the Trucking Industry. In todays world and as days go by, Technology will play a major role in every marketplace in the years to come.

Press Release: Why SEO Experts Should Not Use Press Releases

Rumor has it that press releases are the next big thing in the SEO business, and many companies are spending top dollars trying to write the next big press release announcing the next big balloon breaking technology. But is this really the next big thing? By definition, a Press Release is a kind of news item released by the company on whom the news is being reported. As such, you will have to compete with all the other press releases and hope that your will get picked up. Why Will Your Press Release Be Trashed? 1) Unless you are writing a press release about Microsoft, Adobe, Sony or one of the other mega-companies, or at least about a company that is relatively well known, forget about it. Journalists and news editors receive thousands of press releases a day and there is no way that they will waste more than a quick glance. So why should you pay a company seven to eight hundred dollars for them sending your press release to thousands of editors and journalists when they are going to junk it anyway? 2) Unless you are announcing a truly revolutionary product or technology (which I assume you are not since you are only interested in using the professionally paid and written press release to boost your search engine rankings), whatever you make up or announce such as some new free deal or new portal offering something unique, your chances of being picked up are very slim. Yes, the PR companies will tell you that they have vast experience in writing Press Releases that will make yours stand out and get picked up but this is not accurate. The only way your PR is going to get picked up is if it truly is something out of the ordinary or something that no one has ever thought off. 3) Unless you plan to spend millions of dollars and then just by sheer volume your site will go ahead in the search engines, this is not a good option. Why? If you send a large number of press releases then these will be placed on the different PR companies websites main page. Since most of these home pages have a very high page rank, your site will get a boost. The question is whether this boost is worth the large amount of money you will put into the PR companies pocket. No it is not. Use that money to buy (though I do not recommend this) links from high-ranked websites and you will pay less and receive more benefit. 4) Any press release, even if it has been accepted, will remain on the different pages for just a short time, making the time and effort and even more so the amount of money you paid fruitless. Conclusion: A press release is useful if you wish to contact the press and maybe get some free publicity, but it is of no use if you wish to use it as a tool in order to advance your website in the search engines.

Be The "Envy" Of Your Neighborhood And Lower Your Fuel

Have you heard about the ENV yet? It's pronounced like "envy" and stands for Emissions Energy Vehicle.

After many years of testing, Intelligent Energy of London has developed a motorcycle-like vehicle that shows lots of promise. The ENV was introduced in early 2006 and has shown great promise by being embraced by the public.

The technology used in this vehicle is a fuel cell. For the technology-minded, it uses a proton exchange membrane fuel cell. The cell converts hydrogen and oxygen to generate electricity. In short, the fuel cell takes the protons and electrons from the hydrogen atom and this forms an electric current.

This electricity is then fed to a series of batteries which powers an electric motor. This gives the bike its power to run. The only noise emitted is from a cooling fan.

For the technology-minded, there is some fascinating usage of greatly available resources (hydrogen is the most abundant element). For many of us, though, all we are interested is: does it work?

In short, the answer is a resounding yes.

The motorcycle will top out at about 50 miles an hour. True, not freeway speeds, but not everyone has a need to travel at high speeds. And it will run for up to 100 miles or about four hours between fill-ups.

Now this is still a long way from giving many of us all the benefits of our gas-guzzlers. But, it's a terrific start. After all, if this technology is available for a motorcycle, how far behind is the ability to power the SUV?

Another nice advantage to the ENV technology is the quiet operation. A nice quiet ride through the countryside can be just that: quiet. And, who's going to miss the smelly emissions we get from our gas and diesel engines?

The cost for being the "envy" of your neighborhood? Intelligent Energy says that it will sell the bike for somewhere between $6,000 and $8,000 (US).

Maybe these high fuel costs are going to result in something positive after all.
